Computerised and analogue models, as per ASTM D-256, ASTM D-6110, ISO 179 and ISO 180.
The Izod / Charpy Impact Tester measures the impact resistance of plastics — the energy required to break a specimen by a single swing of a pendulum. It is designed as per ASTM D-256, ASTM D-6110, ISO 179 and ISO 180, supporting both the Izod (cantilever) and Charpy (simple-beam) methods, so laboratories can report toughness in the units required by each standard.
Impact strength is a key indicator of how a plastic will perform under sudden loads and shocks. International Equipments offers both an Analogue model, which reads energy on a dial scale, and a Computerised model, which uses a microcontroller to display impact strength directly and produce impact-energy versus angular-displacement graphs and numeric reports through a connected PC. For accurate, repeatable results, the tester is used together with a Motorised Notch Cutter to prepare standard notches.
