The Seat Impact Tester is used to check the impact effect on the seat surface of plastic moulded chairs. Moulded furniture must withstand repeated sitting, sudden loads and rough handling, so manufacturers use this machine to simulate impact on the seat and confirm that their chairs are strong and durable before they reach the market.
The tester drops a fixed 18 kg weight onto the seat through a pneumatically operated cylinder, while a counter records each trial. This repeated-impact testing helps furniture and plastic moulding manufacturers improve product design, verify quality and reduce field failures and warranty returns.
